3 meals a day
Green Dinosaur ‘Ice cream’
Spirulina is a great way of increasing the nutrient density of your babies food (and your own) - and a great plant based alternative for iron for vegans/vegetarians.
Fermented Fruit
To make kefir you need to buy some grains (look in your local health food shop for grains) or some culture starters such as from Kultured Wellness then follow the instructions to make kefir. It’s SO easy, and I prefer kefir to kombucha as it’s a quicker turnaround time (about 2 days to have kefir ready!)
Fermented Golden Cashew Cheese
Soaking the cashews makes them very easy to digest, and the fermentation of the nuts improves gut health, matures babies digestive system, fights inflammation, improves good bacteria, helps the body to absorb more nutrients and boosts immunity!
Healthy Crumble
One of my favourite desserts, because it’s simple, wholesome, nourishing and so healthy you can eat it for breakfast too! It’s also a great way to use up all those apples the toddler has had one bite out of!
Beetroot and Tahini Dip/Puree
I made this as baby food but it was so yum I kept some for a dip for myself! Full of good fats from the olive oil and tahini - and calcium and iron! And fibre, folate and vitamin c from the beetroot’sIts flavoursome for your babies palate and yours!
High Protein Ricotta Pancakes
These are so yummy, high in protein, healthy fats and carbohydrates- the perfect balanced meal that will leave you and your little one full for longer! I love sharing these with my children especially on a school morning because they set them up for a great day.
Lentil Fritters – with a herby probiotic yoghurt dip
These fritters and dip are such a good combo! If you have any left overs, you could add some fresh sides and make some lentil burgers, or use lettuce leaves as the bun for a unless option.
Meatballs
This is a simple, tasty and nutritious meal for the whole family. Best thing about this meal is it is JAM PACKED with hidden vegetables!!
Shepherd’s Pie with Mix veggie mash
A little twist on the traditional shepherds pie with the addition of bone broth and a mixed vegetable mash! This recipe is so nice to share with your baby/toddlers and also makes the perfect meal to drop to your friends and family postpartum!
