In this weeks episode we had the absolute privilege to speak to the INCREDIBLE Lael Stone.

If you haven’t heard of Lael, after listening to her speak you will be as obsessed as we are. She speaks from such a place of kindness, compassion, empathy and experience, and today’s episode was all about how we can raise our children to be resilient and compassionate – which is also the title of her AMAZING book which we highly recommend reading.

In this podcast we cover:

  • What is Aware Parenting?

  • Creating a safe space for your child’s big feelings

  • How do we get our children to cooperate?

  • Do kids really save up their big feelings for us?

  • How we can practically help our child come back into balance

  • What are ‘loving-limits’ and Lael’s opinion on boundaries and saying no to our child

  • ‘Mother-rage’ and how we can best be the calm and connected parent we want to be, even when our inner world doesn’t feel calm

More about Lael:

Lael Stone is an educator, TEDx speaker, author, mother, and parenting counsellor who has been working with families for over 20 years. Her work as a birth educator, post-natal trauma counselor, and parenting educator has seen her work with thousands of families consulting about newborns all the way to the teen years.

She is the co-creator of Woodline Primary School, an innovative new school based on emotional well-being and connection. Lael is the co-host of The Aware Parenting Podcast and a sought-after public speaker who talks candidly about her experiences and her great passion; creating wellness in families through connection and communication.

As well as sitting on a few advisory boards and consulting with organisations around emotional awareness and trauma-informed practices, she has teamed up with The Resilience Project to deliver presentations about raising resilient children all over Australia in 2022/2023.
